Fagus Sylvatica

Beech (fagus) is a genus of deciduous trees in the family Fagaceae, native to temperate Europe, Asia & North America.

According to the Genus system, there are 10 – 13 species with subgenera engleriana & fagus such as Fagus Crenata (Japanese Beech), Fagus Engleriana (Chinese Beech), Fagus Grandiflora (American Beech), etc.

These are low branching trees, often made up of several major trunks with yellowish bark. There is a whitish bloom on the underside of the leaves.
